Hi, Welcome to the HP Support Forums! Epson Twain 5 2450. I see by your post that after updating to Windows 10, it will only print half of the page. I would like to help you out today. If this helps you to reach a solution, please click the 'Accept as Solution' button down below in this message. If you wish to say thanks for my effort to help, click the ' Thumbs Up ' to give me a Kudos. I checked and the drivers are installed by the Windows Updates for this model.
Source: Download and run the it will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. Archpr 4.53 Professional Edition Download here. What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? How is the printer connected? (USB or Parallel) Please let me know the results and if there is anything else I can help you with. Thanks for providing that information, Check the port showing on the computer for the printer, to make sure it matches. From Devices and Printers, right click the printer and left click Printer Properties, select the Ports tab. See which one is checked and let me know.
It should be checked on USB. Restart the printer and make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector) This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation. The USB cable shouldn't be longer then 6 feet. Make sure the USB cable is connected directly to the computer. (not a docking station or hub) Try another USB port on the computer.
You might have to try another USB cable. Please keep me posted. Hi, I am not sure why the printer isn't being detected properly by the operating system. It could be a Windows Update issue or driver complications.
When installing the printer, it should be installing the printer as USB and not just the Dot4. Here is what I have found out: USB DOT4 - Bilateral communication between printer and computer. USB - Unilateral communication between printer and computer. Bilateral communication (USB DOT4) means take more time to communicate. Therefore, printing is much slower than unilateral communication (USB). You can try and install a generic driver using the Dot 4 port, to see if that may help.
From the Devices and Printers window, right click on the printer and left click Printer Properties. Click on the Advanced tab. Click on the New Driver button. Select HP, HP Officejet PCL3 Class Driver. Continue through the menus. Then test the printer. The USB ports may not be installed properly since the upgrade.
You could reinstall the chipset drivers on the computer. If you are not sure or comfortable doing these steps, please contact the computer manufacturer. If you have access to another computer, I would try and install the printer on it, just to rule out a hardware issue with the USB ports on the printer and the drivers being used with Windows 10 first. It may be a issue with the age of the printer and the Windows 10 operating system. Please keep me posted.
I encountered exactly the same problem as described here. My HP officejet G55 was working fine since years on my old PC running Win Vista. Now I connected it to my newly bought PC runnnig Windows 10 and it prints only some lines on the pages (up to half a page).
Sometimes pages are printed completly?! Scanning works fine and also the copier function. The hardware is fine.
Can anyone find a solution? The printer is USB connected. I run the print and scan doctor and apart from an error that it shows in the port section everything is fine. When I continue to print the test page, the page is less then half prited and the error printing accours again. The port is DOT4_001, and i dont find usb ports.
There are COM 1 2 3 4, LPT 1 2 3 but no usb. Nevertheless in the system information about connected devices the printer is shown as connected to USB. How can I connect the printer driver to USB (instead to DOT4_001 to eliminate bidirectional communication?
